For this experience, join the UHM ICS Slack and, once you create an account and log in, post a short introductory message about yourself in the #hello_world channel. This provides info to your fellow students, and also verifies that you have joined the chat channel and can post to it. Also, once you log in, join the #ics141 channel.
Important notes:
Your message doesn’t have to be long, but you should mention your name, where you’re from, and why you chose to be a Computer Science major.
Feel free to say hello in the #ics141 channel too. Please keep class discussion in there, but feel free to share links or talk about other things in #general or #random.
Use emoji. Use a lot of it. Slack also has some really good animated GIF support.
Class announcements will still typically be made in class or email, but we’ll try to send out blasts on Slack, too.
By the time and date indicated on the Schedule page, your introductory posting must appear in #hello_world.
