For this experience, join the ICS 314 Slack Team. Click on the link “create an account” at the bottom of the page to get started using your hawaii.edu account.
Choose a username with the format firstname_lastname. For example, if your name is “Philip Johnson”, then your username should be “philip_johnson” (all lower case). This will help your classmates learn your name as quickly as possible.
Please fill out your profile at https://ics314f17.slack.com/account/profile. It’s super helpful to provide a headshot so other folks in the class can associate your name with your face.
Once in the ics314f17 team, post a short introductory paragraph about yourself into the #introductions channel. This provides info to your fellow students, and also verifies that you have joined Slack and can post to it.
It is your responsibility to receive information about this class promptly. I highly recommend that you install a native client for Slack on your phone and your laptop and set it to display notifications.
By the time and date indicated on the Schedule page, your introductory paragraph must appear in Slack.
