The Hawaii Annual Code Challenge is a nationally recognized program for engaging technologists and others to create innovative solutions to problems within our community and state government.
You can earn up to 300 extra credit points for participating in the HACC this year. That can make up for 3 DNFs on the in-class WODs!
Here’s how it works:
Join the HACC 2020 Slack workspace.
Register for the kickoff event. Note that registration is free but limited and HACC has “sold out” every year so far. So, sign up immediately to ensure your spot.
Once you’re registered, attend the kickoff event. Philip will post a link to an attendance form to the Zoom chat channel at some point during the event. Fill that out, and be sure to attend the entire event so that Philip can “find you” on Zoom. You will receive 100 XC points just for attending the Kickoff Event, regardless of whether you participate further in the HACC.
To earn an additional 200 XC points, join a team and produce a project that is demo’d at the Judging and Awards Day. If you work on a project but it doesn’t get to demo status, you may be eligible for partial extra credit. Note: you have to do some work as a team member to be eligible for the extra credit. DM Philip if you are part of a team that was selected so he can verify your participation and award you the additional points.
As noted above, to obtain extra credit for the kickoff day, you must complete the attendance form sent at some point during the Kickoff Zoom meeting.
