The University of Hawaii, Manoa Course Catalog describes ICS 415 as:
Introduction to emerging technologies for construction of World Wide Web (WWW)-based software. Covers programming and scripting languages used for the creation of WWW sites and client-server programming. Students will complete a medium-sized software project that uses languages and concepts discussed in class.
This course explores various technologies for developing Web sites.
Prerequisites: A grade of “B” or higher in 311 or instructor’s consent.
Computer Requirements: You must have have the following computer technology:
A laptop computer, less than two years old, with at least a 15? screen and 10 GB of available disk space.
If you don’t have or cannot get a suitable laptop computer, please don’t take ICS 415.
The primary goal of ICS 415: Introduction to Programming for the Web is to teach you how to develop Web applications that work on a variety of display devices.
