The Hawaii Annual Code Challenge is a nationally recognized program for engaging technologists and others to create innovative solutions to problems within our community and state government.
You can earn up to 200 extra credit points for participating in the HACC this year: 100 points just for attending the KickOff, and 100 more if your team is selected as a finalist to present on judging day.
Here’s how it works:
Join the HACC 2021 Slack Workspace. This is the communication channel for the event.
Register for the kickoff event. Note that registration is free but limited and HACC has “sold out” every year so far. So, sign up immediately to ensure your spot.
Once you’re registered, attend the kickoff event. You will earn 100 XC points for attending the KickOff event. DM your instructor (Philip or Cam) during the KickOff so they can verify your presence.
To earn an additional 100 XC points, join a team and produce a project that is demo’d at the Judging and Awards Day. If you work on a project but it doesn’t get to demo status, you may be eligible for partial extra credit. Note: you have to do some work as a team member to be eligible for the extra credit. DM Philip if you are part of a team that was selected so he can verify your participation and award you the additional points.
As noted above, to obtain 100 extra credit points for the kickoff day, you must DM your instructor during the event.
