Introduction to Slack

We will be using Slack for class communication this semester. Slack is the latest fad in team communication: it’s a little bit mailing list, a little bit SMS, and a little bit file management. It has very nice native apps for Android, iOS, Macintosh, Linux, and Windows. I think you’ll like it.

If you don’t know anything about Slack, go to https://slack.com/is and click on the “Watch video” button. That’s enough info to get you going.

I’ve created a Slack Team for ICS 414 called “ics414f20”. Currently, anyone with a hawaii.edu account can sign in to the ICS 314 team (once the semester has started, I’ll tighten this up).

To join this team, go to https://join.slack.com/t/ics414f20/signup and use your hawaii.edu email account.

Once in the team, please post a short message to the #introductions channel to introduce yourself. Just a couple sentences will do.

As you go through these pregame experiences, please use the Slack #pregame channel to ask questions or make comments about the material.
