ICS 290: Computer Science Careers: An Exploration of the Specialties of Computer Science

Description: Exploration of the specialties of computer science. Meets every two weeks for 2.5 hours to explore specific areas in computer science. CR/NC only. (Once a year)

Grading: Writings that summarize the presentations (80%) Final exam (20%)

Schedule: This is a seminar-style course. Students listen to presentation by a variety of local high technology professionals about careers in their discipline.

Readings are assigned prior to each presentation so that students can familiarize themselves with the computing discipline to be presented. On average, about 10 pages per presentation.
